KYAE Recognition Luncheon Photos, Louisville, Kentucky
Nearly 300 adult educators, superintendents, college presidents, federal and state education officials and Kentucky Adult Education staff joined together for a festive Recognition Luncheon to celebrate the system’s shared accomplishments over the past four years during KYAE's first adult education recognition luncheon during the National Center for Family Literacy's 14th annual conference on April 26, 2005.
Special guests included Susan Scalfani, assistant secretary for vocational and adult education at the U.S. Department of Education; Ron Greenberg, chair of the Council on Postsecondary Education; Tom Layzell, president of the Council on Postsecondary Education; and Sue Hodges Moore, executive vice-president of the Council on Postsecondary Education.
The event celebrated progress in improving adult literacy and demonstrated the critical role of adult education in postsecondary education and workforce development. Adult education providers were recognized for the vital part they have played in progress Kentucky has achieved in adult education over the last five years.
