Through Accelerating Opportunity Kentucky (AOKY), qualified GED®-seeking students can earn college credit while they are working toward earning the GED® diploma.
AOKY offers an accelerated pathway to employment by allowing qualified GED®-seeking students to:
- Earn a GED® diploma while also being enrolled in college courses;
- Earn one or more certifications that help them get a better job faster – one with a family-sustaining wage; and
- Earn a stackable credential in a college pathway that can lead to a degree in the future.
AOKY programming uses a student-first approach that gives participants the skills they need to succeed and compete in the workforce by working on technical and foundational education while providing support services via success and career coaches. AOKY programs are selected based on regional labor market demand.
