Experienced Instructor Institute
The Experienced Instructor Institute is required for full-time KYAE-funded staff hired before January 1, 2009. This applies to KYAE-funded full-time corrections, ESL instructors/instructor's aides and Department of Corrections staff. In-kind staff and volunteers do not attend KYAE professional development. Instructor's aides do not have to complete the institute project.
As space permits, part-time staff will be able to complete an institute to meet the PD requirement for the year. Part-time instructors and instructor’s aides who do not complete an institute, will complete the required KYAE online institute(s). Each online institute includes a classroom project. Instructors will complete the project; for instructor's aides, the project is optimal. The first institute is scheduled to begin in August.
Participants are encouraged to attend the institute closest to their program. They are not required to attend the one in their region. PD funds may be used.
Registration is limited to one track. Participants will register using the Professional Development Catalog. See 2010-11 KYAE PD Registration Process before registering for institutes. There will be no on-site registration.
