1st Year Instructor Institute

The 1st Year Instructor Institute is limited to full-time instructors and instructor’s aides hired on, or before January 1, 2010, to the present. If space permits, part-time new insructors or instructor's aides may also attend.

Orientation to Adult Education online course is a pre-requisite and must be completed before attending the first face-to-face institute session.  All new staff will complete the Orientation to Adult Education online course within 60 days of hire.

The institute consist of six face-to-face workshops a three-day initial face-to-face session (21 hours), two-day interim (14 hours) and a one-day showcase (7 hours), conference calls, Web conferences, a classroom project and coaching visits.

Two institutes will be offered this year.  Participants are encouraged to attend the institute closest to their hire date.

Continuation:  November 18-19, 2010, Morehead State University at Mt. Sterling
Showcase:  April 15, 29 or May 6, 2011, (site TBD)
