PD Requirements for Full-time Instructors and Instructor's Aides

Pre-work and pre-tests must be completed one week before the institute kickoff. Participants must earn a score of "2" (Proficient) or higher on each section of the classroom project to successfully complete an institute or online course.

Instructors and instructor’s aides (who have instructional duties such as one-on-one tutoring and reviewing work with students) will attend an institute based on their number of years experience in adult education. We encourage aides to attend an institute with their supervising instructor. In some cases, aides and instructors will jointly develop the classroom project. All institutes will require completion of a classroom project.

1st Year Instructor Institute (for full-time instructors and instructor’s aides hired on or after January 1, 2010)

2nd Year Instructor Institute (for full-time instructors and instructor’s aides hired between January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2009)

Experienced Instructor Institute (for full-time instructors and instructor’s aides hired before July 1, 2009)
