Rapid Response

Layoffs, closures, dislocated workers--HELP is available!

Rapid Response assists dislocated workers who lose their jobs because of permanent business closures or mass layoffs due to the economic climate or as a result of natural or man-made disasters.  The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training (OET) has de-centralized the Rapid Response function to better utilize local One Stop partner representatives.   Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) staff contact representatives of Job services and training opportunities, Unemployment Insurance, Adult Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) as well as other community partners.  Access detailed education and employment information at www.e3.ky.gov.

Local adult education centers take a lead role in offering educational services to dislocated workers allowing them a better opportunity for re-employment.  Services include:  assessment, skills upgrade, GED® preparation and workplace certification.
