Putting Kentuckians First
Putting Kentuckians First is a statewide task force committed to assisting individuals engaged with District, Circuit, or Drug Court, as well as those reentering the community after treatment or incarceration. The program provides tailored support through partner organizations to help participants advance their employment, education, and training goals.
Targeted Orientation Classes
Once a month, Targeted Orientation Classes are hosted at local Adult Education Centers, Career Centers, libraries, or other public venues. Contact your County Reentry and Employment Services Navigator for exact dates and times. Participants meet with workforce development staff and are linked to the right partner organizations to help them pursue employment, training, or educational opportunities. Additional appointments are scheduled to complete the next steps.
Behavioral Health Conditional Dismissal Program (BHCDP- SB90)
Senate Bill 90 established the Behavioral Health Conditional Dismissal Program to support Kentuckians with behavioral health disorders who are facing qualifying charges. The program replaces incarceration with treatment and recovery services, and charges are dismissed once the participant successfully completes all requirements. Individuals must undergo a clinical assessment and be referred for care or meet Section 3 criteria to participate.
Participating counties include: Christian, Clark, Daviess, Greenup, Henry, Hopkins, Kenton, Letcher, Madison, McCracken, Oldham and Pulaski, Lewis, Pike, Russell,Wayne, Warren.
